Norwalk High School is a place where students and faculty alike experience the excitement of the motivated mind. We believe all of our students are capable of success, and as a staff our focus will be working towards ensuring that each student that comes through our doors is eligible to attend a four-year college or university and will be prepared for any post-seconday environment.  Norwalk High School emphasizes a well rounded student, and each department is staffed by an outstanding faculty that is committed to teaching excellence.

 

 

For the 2nd year in a row Norwalk has been recognized by US News and World Report as a Silver Medal school as a result of the academic achievement of our students.  Our students are provided open access to each of our 21 Advanced Placement classes, and NLMUSD is dedicated to allowing each student to take the associated AP exam for free.  Additionally, all students grades 9-12 will take the PSAT or SAT for free, and provide tools and resources for analyzing their results, and provide free SAT prep classes. 

 

In addition to specific courses and test preparation, Norwalk also supports students in pursuing their post-seconday goals and areas of interests through our academies.  Each of these academies allows students to take classes that allow them to explore their interests in these fields, while also providing field trips, professional development in soft skills (e.g. interviewing, resumes, etc), interaction with individuals that currently work in each industry, and much more.  These include:

Norwalk High School athletic programs are focused on developing student athletes that strongly represent the best of Norwalk on and off the field.  Norwalk is proud to have such a wide variety of athletic teams and to be able to say that in addition to the standard baseball, basketball and soccer teams, it also is home to successful Cross Country, Volleyball, Wrestling, Softball, and Track teams.

 

 

The Visual and Performing Arts department offers students the opportunity to perform in front of large groups several times each year. Please check back in often to find out about any upcoming performances so that you don't miss the opportunity to see our students perform. 

 

Norwalk High School has the best counseling team in the country.  They truly care about each of their students, and go above and beyond to make sure that each one is able to work towards their goals.
